Spectris announces acquisition of MicroStrain Sensing Systems Business

 

Spectris plc (SXS: LSE), the expert in providing insight through precision measurement, today announces that it has signed a purchase agreement to acquire MicroStrain Sensing Systems Business. MicroStrain will be integrated into Hottinger Brüel & Kjær (HBK), which has a long-established brand in sensing systems. 

 

Based in Vermont, MicroStrain is a leading developer of inertial and wireless sensing systems. MicroStrain’s products serve the industrial and tactical grade category of the inertial sensing systems market with growth driven by increased demand from industrial automation and the development and adoption of new robotics, logistics, automation, unmanned vehicles and mobility applications.  MicroStrain has developed a strong network of blue-chip customers, including internationally regarded robotic and autonomous equipment innovators. 

 

The acquisition will not only provide HBK with additional technological know-how, but also help provide enhanced solutions for the automation and smart manufacturing markets.
