MX460B: High Resolution For Demanding Dynamic Measurement Tasks

The MX460B is a powerful 4‑channel digital measurement module designed for high‑precision acquisition of pulse, frequency, and torque‑related signals. With extremely high internal resolution, real‑time computation, and seamless integration into the QuantumX family, it delivers unmatched performance for demanding electric drive and high‑speed mechanical testing.

Key features

  • Four individually configurable inputs (galvanically isolated)
  • Connection of digital pulse and frequency signals up to 1 MHz to record speed, torque, angle, position, displacement and pulse width modulated (PWM) signals
  • Supports the following transducer technologies:
    • Digital high resolution frequency input
    • Note: Module cannot supply torque shafts with power.
    • Pulse counter, encoder
    • Passive inductive rotational speed sensor (AC coupled pickups)
  • Sample rates up to 100 kS/s per channel (signal bandwidth: 20 kHz)
  • High resolution and dynamics thanks to pulse interpolation and extrapolation
  • Supply voltage (DC) for active transducers: 5 to 24 V
  • Active low pass filter: Bessel and Butterworth
  • Real-time torsional vibration analysis (TVA) and difference angle calculation
  • 1 × Ethernet port with PTP support
  • 2 × FireWire ports
  • Factory calibration data in accordance with DIN/ISO10012 saved on the device (generate certificate using MX Assistant)
  • DAkkS certificate (ISO17025) upon request

The MX460B amplifier complements HBK’s high-quality torque transducers such as T12HP and T40B. And with built-in TEDS support, which provides automatic transducer identification, test setup is fast and error‑free.

The MX460B also integrates effortlessly into the QuantumX modular data acquisition system for connection to existing and new measuring systems with synchronized measurements provided by FireWire and Ethernet PTPv2 support. Then when you add in catman® software for data recording and data analysis, you achieve a true plug‑and‑measure setup where data can be immediately visualized, stored or digitally forwarded.

Stay connected with the latest firmware and software

All QuantumX modules are delivered with the latest firmware. For existing modules, it is easy to update the firmware by simply downloading the latest firmware package.

HBK also provides both native and third-party software packages and drivers allowing you to fully leverage the QuantumX ‘open’ data acquisition infrastructure for integration with a great number of operating, analysis and automation software. This includes:

  • MX Assistant: a modern and free device or system assistant that supports all module functions
  • catmanEASY / AP / Enterprise: The standard DAQ software used with the QuantumX platform
  • Third-party drivers: For example, LabVIEW™, Visual Studio® .NET and CANape®
