El calibrador de vibraciones permite un ajuste preciso de instrumentos de medición y transductores, como acelerómetros, a un nivel de aceleración estándar de 10 ms–2 (carga de 0 a 70 g). La señal de referencia también puede utilizarse para calibrar velocidad y desplazamiento, a 10 mms–1 y 10 µm respectivamente.
El calibrador de vibración portátil es muy sencillo de utilizar. Solo hay que acoplar el transductor al calibrador con un perno roscado 10-32 UNF YQ-2962, así de sencillo.
El calibrador incorpora un excitador electromagnético basado en un oscilador de cristal, a una frecuencia de 159,15 Hz (1000 rad s–1).
La retroalimentación del servo a través de un pequeño acelerómetro en la parte inferior de la mesa de vibración se utiliza para mantener un nivel de vibración constante y preciso, independientemente de la masa del transductor bajo prueba.
