Experimental Stress Analysis for assessment of
structural elements
The following topics will be covered from both a theoretical and a practical perspective:
- Material behavior, stress-strain relation
- Calculating principal strain and stress values
- Generalized Hooke’s law
- Equivalent stresses, strength hypotheses (von Mises etc.) and determination of allowable stresses
- Basics of analysis of residual stress using Strain gauges
- Usage of load spectra
- Introduction in the calculation of fatigue and endurance strength
- Fatigue strength diagrams
- Consideration of further methods of experimental Stress analysis
The learned topics are applied and trained on
practical test set-ups.
