Get Host IDs for Locally Hosted Licensing

Starting with Version 10.1, new floating licenses and token-based licenses (e.g., Prenscia Access and CRS licenses) are hosted locally within your organization. This allows you to manage license seats in-house without the requirement to connect with the ReliaSoft license server.

The license is customized to work only on the computer you specify as your license server. This means that we'll need some information about the computer in order to generate your license. Please follow these simple step

  1. Choose your license server.

Because the license is customized to the license server, please choose the server carefully, with the following considerations in mind:

  • The computer must be accessible via the network to all users.
  • The computer must remain on at all times when users need access to the applications.
  • Starting in Version 2020, only 64-bit systems are acceptable for use as license servers

2. Download the utility.

To get the utility, right-click this link (4.5 MB) and choose Save as to download the executable file ("RSHostIDLookup.exe"). You can place the file anywhere on the license server.

3. Get the host IDs and send to ReliaSof.

Double-click the utility to open it and click the Display button. After a brief pause, the Host ID information for the computer will be displayed in the window. Copy the information from the utility relating to ETHERNET, HARDDISK and BIOS (both lines for each item) and paste it into a new e-mail to your sales account manager.
