TN Torque Transfer Standard: Ultimate Precision. Trusted Traceability. Unmatched Stability.

The HBK TN Torque Transfer Transducer is engineered for the world’s most demanding calibration environments. Built for national metrology institutes and high‑level industrial labs, TN delivers exceptional accuracy and long‑term stability making it the gold standard for torque traceability worldwide.

Key features

  • Top‑tier accuracy
    • Standard model: Class 0.05 (DIN 51309, in conjunction with DakkS/DKD calibration certificate)
    • TOP‑Transfer version: Even tighter performance for advanced reference applications
  • Wide torque range: available from 100 N·m to 20 kN·m, covering small‑scale labs to heavy‑duty industrial calibration systems
  • Cylindrical shaft ends without keys, dimensions according to DIN 51309

Enhanced calibration confidence even in harsh conditions

TN’s innovative strain‑gauge technology includes dedicated bending‑moment measurement bridges for monitoring alignment and calibration conditions, which is essential for the most stringent metrology workflows. The transducer’s unique design provides exceptional humidity resistance, ensuring stable performance even under challenging environmental conditions.

Typical applications

  • Transfer standard in torque calibration systems
  • Ensuring traceability for lever‑mass torque calibration setups
  • Reference sensor in accredited calibration laboratories
  • International comparison measurements

World-class precision

The TN torque transducer is used as a transfer standard for comparison or to ensure traceability in torque calibration systems based on lever-mass systems. In a fixed mounting, it can also be used as a reference sensor in calibration laboratories. It is the preferred reference sensor for international inter-laboratory comparisons, and meets and in some cases (in the TOP‑Transfer version) exceeds the highest accuracy class of DIN 51309 (Class 0.05), which makes it a trusted standard for global traceability.
