Rapid processing of measured data gives shorter test times

MGA Research Corporation, usa

Introduction

MGA use their own test benches for realtime simulation tests in the transport industry. Portable data acquisition systems are used on test tracks to acquire the necessary data such as acceleration and speed in order to create vibration and fatigue profiles. Usually, such test tracks are designed in such a manner that they damage the vehicle far more than a normal road would. This allows the test engineers to simulate the entire vehicle lifecycle in a shorter period of time.

The acquisition and analysis of this data volume is decisive for the success of MGA, so they decided to use the data import, visualization and analysis system nCode GlyphWorks® from HBM. Damage to test vehicles must be rapidly determined. Thanks to nCode GlyphWorks®, MGA test engineers are one step ahead of their competitors.

This software allows the ‘non-damaging’ signal sections to be easily removed. The calculation of relative damage by comparing files with raw and processed data is also possible. After the files have been edited, MGA retains at least 95% of the damage. By adapting the repetition factors for strongly damaging events, the damage content can also be adapted without significantly prolonging the test duration

MGA Research Corporation

MGA Research Corporation is the world leader in independent test services and equipment. In order to better meet the requirements of their customers, MGA is using nCode GlyphWorks® from HBM for the processing of test data.
