The K-C10 is our high-end sensor for compressive forces - ready to be configured in accordance with your needs.

NEW: IO-Link option with integrated amplifer. 

Find below some explanations to our options.

Capacity

The sensor is available in measurement ranges from 2.5 kN to 1 MN.

Number of measuring bridges

The C10 force sensors are available in single bridge (SB) or double bridge (DB) versions. Double bridge sensors feature two independent measurement circuits, so the sensor has two outputs. This can be used to connect two different amplifiers working independently.

Rated output adjustment

The C10 force sensors have a rated output in the range from 4 mV/V to 4.9 mV/V (steel types) or from 2 mV/V to 3 mV/V (aluminum types). The sensors can be adjusted to 4 mV/V (or 2 mV/V for the aluminum types) on request (J). In this case, the output resistance is adjusted as well so that you can connect C10s parallel using one amplifier input.

NOTE: If you order the C10 with integrated amplifier, the sensor is adjusted as a measuring chain - no need for a passive adjustment (N).

Calibration

The C10 comes along with a calibration to 100 % of the measurement range (1) in the standard version. If required, HBK performs a calibration to 50 % of the measurement range (5). In case of choosing the 50 % option, the rated output is halved as well.

Transducer identification

You can order your sensor with a “Transducer Electronic Data Sheet”, TEDS (T). In this case, your sensor is equipped with an electronic memory that is programmed with the technical characteristics of the sensor. If the sensor is connected to an instrument with TEDS 0-wire functionality, for example, HBK's Quantum models or the ClipX modules, the instrument will read out the specific data and the setup process will run automatically.

NOTE: TEDS only for sensors without integrated amplifier module.

Mechanical design

The C10 is delivered with a foot adapter (load base) as standard (W). Upon request, we can deliver the sensor without (N) as a flange. This reduces the height. Please note the requirements for the surface quality of the construction element, to which the C10 flange is mounted, as mentioned in the manual.

Plug protection

The C10 can be ordered with a plug protection. This is a massive square profile mounted around the connector to protect it from mechanical damage (P). Standard is without plug protection (U).

Electrical connection Bridge A

The standard version is a bayonet connector (PT02E106P6P-compatible) (B). You can order a screw-type plug (PC02E106P compatible) as well (G). A third variant where the force transducers are fitted with a fixed cable is also available (K = 6 m cable, V = 15 m cable). In this version, all C10s with a nominal (rated) force greater than or equal to 25 kN achieve degree of protection IP68. Sensors with a digital output (VAIO) are connected via the 4-pin M12 plug (00A4).

Plug version for the fixed mounted cables

If you have ordered the C10 with an integrated cable, you can have a plug mounted at the end of the cable, so the force sensor can be connected directly to your amplifier.

  • Y = Free ends, no plug assembly
  • F = D-sub-HD, 15-pin, for connecting to MGC+ (e.g. AP01) or Scout amplifiers
  • Q = HD-sub-HD, 15-pin, for connecting to many HBK signal conditioners in the Quantum series (MX410, Mx440, MX840, MX430, MX238)
  • N = MS plug, for connecting to HBK signal conditioner, such as MGC+ (AP03), DMP or DK38
  • P = ODU plug, 14-pin, degree of protection IP68, for connecting to all HBK amplifiers of the Somat XR series that are suitable for measuring full bridge circuits
  • M = M12-plug, 8-pin, for connecting to the digiBOX and DSE measuring amplifiers
  • X = No cable

Integrated amplifier

Standard C10 force transducers are passive (mV/V) sensors (N). If you order your C10 with integrated amplifier with IO-Link interface (VAIO), the C10 comes along as calibrated measurement chain. After connected to an IO – Link master, the device sends correct measurement values in N. Please note that you need to choose M12 plug as an electrical connection. TEDS and adjusted output are not required, so that you can not order these options in combination with an integrated amplifier.

Firmware version

If you order a C10 with an integrated amplifier, you will get the latest firmware version, unless you choose an older version that is still available.
