Traditional electrical strain‑gauge installations require extensive wiring, drilling, and weeks of labour per wheelset—adding cost, complexity, and mechanical risk. By using optical strain gauges, the company aims to significantly reduce installation time, minimise structural intervention, and enhance safety.
