Il est extrêmement robuste et capable de résister à des pressions allant jusqu’à 10⁷ Pa (100 atm ; profondeur de 1000 m (3250 ft).
Cet hydrophone présente d’excellentes caractéristiques directionnelles : à 100 kHz, il est omnidirectionnel sur 360° dans le plan x-y (radial) et sur 270° dans le plan x-z (axial).
