Type 4192 is designed for high-precision coupler measurements or ANSI noise measurements. Being externally polarized, Type 4192 must be used with a classical preamplifier.

El tipo 4192 requiere una tensión de polarización externa y, por lo tanto, debe usarse con un preamplificador clásico. Los micrófonos polarizados externamente pueden usarse a temperaturas más altas sin cambios severos en la sensibilidad.
El Tipo 4192 está disponible en combinaciones TEDS con el Preamplificador de Micrófono clásico Tipo 2669. El micrófono TEDS se considera una unidad y ha sido sellado en un entorno limpio. El TEDS está programado con la sensibilidad cargada del cartucho actual y, por lo tanto, los datos están disponibles de inmediato. La plantilla TEDS predeterminada es para IEEE P 1451.4, pero TEDS para IEEE 1451.4 está disponible a pedido.
