El micrófono de campo libre de ½ pulgada tipo 4950 es un micrófono de condensador prepolarizado, diseñado para mediciones de sonido precisas y confiables, según lo requerido por los medidores de nivel de sonido de acuerdo con la norma IEC 61672 clase 1 y ANSI S 1.4 tipo 1.
El uso de un diafragma de acero inoxidable montado a presión garantiza tanto la robustez como la resistencia a la corrosión. El micrófono está equipado con una rejilla de protección extraíble. No necesita una tensión de polarización externa, lo que elimina la necesidad de engorrosas fuentes de corriente continua de alta tensión y, al mismo tiempo, permite el uso de una entrada económica de sistema de 2 hilos (CCLD).
