Diffuse-field microphone cartridge specifically designed for random-incidence (diffuse-field) measurements over 6 Hz TO 16 kHz, and provides noise measurement in accordance with ANSI standards.

Prepolarized diffuse-field ½-inch microphone Type 4942 is optimised for general random-incidence measurements and for standardised noise measurements in accordance with ANSI standards. And being prepolarized it can connect to CCLD input conditioning.

Un micrófono de campo difuso, también llamado micrófono de incidencia aleatoria, está diseñado para tener una respuesta plana cuando las señales llegan simultáneamente desde todas las direcciones. Por lo tanto, no solo deben utilizarse para realizar mediciones en cámaras reverberantes, sino en todas aquellas situaciones en las que el campo sonoro sea difuso o en las que varias fuentes contribuyan a la presión sonora en el punto de medición. Algunos ejemplos prácticos son situaciones en interiores, donde el sonido se refleja en las paredes, los techos y los objetos de la habitación, o mediciones dentro de un automóvil.
El micrófono es capaz de soportar la prueba de caída de 1 metro según la norma IEC 68-2-32.
La sensibilidad se puede calibrar a 250 Hz utilizando el pistófono Tipo 4228 con el Adaptador de media pulgada DP 0776. La respuesta del actuador se puede medir utilizando el actuador UA 0033. La respuesta de incidencia aleatoria se puede obtener añadiendo la corrección de incidencia aleatoria específica del tipo a la respuesta del actuador. Tenga en cuenta que este micrófono no es adecuado para mediciones de campo de presión.
