Es un instrumento robusto que soporta presiones de hasta 107 MPa (100 atm o 1000 m de profundidad marina).
Además, ofrece unas características direccionales excelentes: a 100 kHz, es omnidireccional a 360° en el plano xy (radial) y a 270° en el plano xz (axial).
