ReliaSoft XFMEA Risk Discovery drives System FMEA Plan

ReliaSoft XFMEA risk discovery drives system FMEA plan at agricultural equipment OEM

 

This presentation describes different ReliaSoft XFMEA features used within a New Tractor program to identify high-risk systems/subsystems. Risk discovery rating was created based on several factors, such as new technology, new application, etc. The Risk Discovery parameters were modified to meet the customer’s Risk Assessment needs.

XFMEA
The identified high-risk systems were marked for detailed analysis and underwent the process for System FMEA. To aid the System FMEA, P-Diagram, boundary diagrams and FMEA block diagrams were utilized to define the overall System. The Design Engineer and Reliability Engineer derived the functions, failures, causes and effects from the P-Diagram and FMEA block diagram / boundary diagram. This information was used to prepopulate the system FMEA, which was then taken to bigger group for intensive discussion. The Risk Matrix was used to identify functions with high risks to identify mitigating actions.

The analysis tool in XFMEA helped facilitate the working meetings.
