Measurements with Cylindrical Strain Gauges in Bolts

This webinar has been recorded and was originally held on March 23, 2021.

Download the Webinar Presentation

Bolts are a common construction element used to connect various components. The insertion of strain gauges rolled to cylinders enables material property measurements in places where conventional sensors cannot be used.

Cylindrical strain gauges have been specially designed to measure strain, force, and vibration in bolts, screws, and other axial construction elements.

In this webinar we will cover the following topics:

  • The correct installation of cylindrical strain gauges
  • Typical challenges when installing cylindrical strain gauges in bolts
  • Metrological properties: special characteristics and achievable accuracy
  • Examples of applications
