Designing for durability involves a multi-disciplinary approach, where measurements and numerical simulation should be used in synergy, each enriching the other with useful information. More specifically, the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) should use measured data inputs that are representative of actual loads in order to perform realistic simulations. Similarly, the calculated mechanical stresses should be compared with the measured ones in order to validate the FE modelling and produce reliable life predictions. This webinar will review some of the basic skills in signal processing an FE engineer should have.
